blog formalities

As is evident by now, I have decided not to capitalize any words appearing in titles. This only applies to blog titles. The reason for this is because as soon as a title gets longer than two words I never know which letters to capitalize. I know there is probably a rule out there that sounds something like "words with fewer than three letters are not capitalized" but I am too picky as to what it looks like, hence I decided not to deal with capital letters, period.

Last night I have thought about things I could post on here and the purpose of me posting things in general. I have decided not to reveal extremely personal things of people I know, if I decide to share some things I will not mention the person's name, for the sake of keeping other people's business personal. Instead of using their names, I will follow an idea which was brought to my attention by a friend a while ago. The use of animals to identify people based on inherent characteristics and attributes. I will do just that. The animal term I will use for a specific person will be the immediate connection I draw between that person and an animal. I am not sure how much information of others I will post on here, but I think it will depend on the impact the person had on me, or something random that comes to mind. I will only use animal 'names' for people around me. In other words, I shall not substitute professors' and professionals' names with those of animals.
When referring to that person after having mentioned their animal substitute, I shall refer to him/her as 'it'. For example: I met wallaby again today. We ended up going for coffee at Starbucks; I had my usual, a grande, skinny, iced chai latte with no ice and 'it' had a green tea. The reason for doing this, you ask? Well aside from being complicated I think it would be interesting and make for fun posts; the animal terms that is. It will also keep me busy trying to think of various animals. The 'it' thing is simply to keep it gender neutral.

Upon reflection, last night, I came to the conclusion that writing this blog, for myself and whoever chooses to read it, could be a great writing exercise on my part. If I can keep it up, it will allow me to get into the groove of writing regularly which could, and hopefully will, translate into me writing more regularly in general. I often attempt to write scripts, with the hopes of breaking free from the shackles of short story/short films; in other words, I hope I can write a feature script some time soon. I think this may help.

In terms of more formalities and sticking with the idea of writing stories, I thought it would be interesting if here and there, at the end of a post, I will begin, and continue over time, with a random story. I don't think I will end up writing it down into a complete and concise story, unless it turns out to be extremely interesting. What I decided to do, then, is to write a maximum of fifteen lines at the end of some posts that will create a story which will continue throughout multiple posts. Again, this will be random and perhaps idiotic, but it may help my juices flow. It's all about getting the juices to flow.

This is all I can think of in terms of formalities at this point, perhaps there will be a volume three down the road. Who knows? If no ones reads my posts then it will act like some sort of journal. I may also posts some images here and there. Of course I will also keep my blog updated with any projects that I am working on.

TCTS,

Gorilla (Love them and deeply care about them, which is why I am using it for myself unless someone comes along that I think deserves to be called that.)

By the way, in my posts, hereinafter, when I say 'you' I am talking to either the blog, which is now an 'it' entity itself, or if I have readers, I may also refer to them as 'you'. Good times.
